New Blog Post: Thank You & Good Bye After a Year of Blogging

It’s hard to believe, but a year has passed since I began this pastoral blog.  At that time I had a burning desire to write.  Often the words just flowed out of me.  It was an interesting and at times exhilarating experience for me.  I was excited to reflect on pastoral ministry and let people into my heart and mind in appropriate ways as pastor.  I had hoped this would be a venue for me to reflect, but also for my parishioners to learn about me.  However, I’m no longer convinced that this is the ideal way for people to follow me as pastor, so I will no longer be writing a weekly blog at this time.  However, I will continue to write and share thoughts and feelings through other means.  In terms of weekly pastoral communication, I continue to write a “Pastor’s Note” in our local church bulletin.  Although it’s difficult to know how many people read this note, my sense is that it is still the most effective way to communicate with the church family on a regular basis.  I also write short daily notes on Twitter, so this is another way for you to learn about me and hear what I’m thinking about or what I’m reading or doing, etc., on a daily basis as pastor and Follower of Jesus.  The last venue for writing that I’ll mention is the Christian Reformed Church Network (CRC Network).  I find it a great place to connect with others and learn about ministry.  Find it at the following link: http://network.crcna.org/.  I occasionally write for the Network, as do many other pastors and leaders.  I want to thank all those who subscribed to my blog or read it on occasion via the Wolf Creek Community Church website or Facebook page.  It has been a good journey and I look forward to what the future holds–through Jesus Christ our Lord.
